Diana Cotoman is a Canadian violinist and composer, born in Romania. Her musical training includes a B.A. in instrumental interpretation, at the University of Arts in Iasi, Romania and a DESS in film music at Montreal’s UQAM. Her musical style could be labeled as neo-tonal or modern romantic and it combines influences of Eastern European folklore, minimalism and jazz. The key word to her musical universe is melody, inherited from her passion for opera. She lives in Montreal, Canada, where she teaches and composes chamber and symphonic music, opera and music for film.
